Curator’s note

Thirteen years on Beverly Boulevard, and the room still turns on the custom pouring station rather than the seating. The roasting is the shop's own, done off-site in Koreatown, and the sourcing stops at the country — no farm, no varietal, no altitude behind it, which for a room built around the pour is the missing half.

The coffee

Andante roasts its own beans off-site in Koreatown, under its own name, as it has since 2013. No farm, varietal, altitude or process detail follows them, so the sourcing stops at the country and stays there.

The centerpiece is a large custom-built pouring station, and everything around it stays deliberately plain: bare white walls, buffed cement, and outlets placed where people actually sit to work. It has looked like this since 2013, which is a long time to be right about one object.
