Curator’s note

Seventeen roasters on the list at once, weighted toward European names most LA bars never carry, with roughly twenty coffees open at Melrose on any given day. The buying is the whole personality here, and it is a good one.

  • ice cream after

The coffee

Seventeen roasters on the current list — Coffee Collective, La Cabra, Prolog, Dak — leaning to light-roast single origins, alongside an own label that lists farm, variety, and process on its product pages but carries no roast date.

The design attention at Dayglow lands on the menu and the bags — a 2024 Sprudge Design Awards finalist in menu design, another in seasonal packaging, and a packaging showcase on the SCA's design platform crediting Anton Warkentin. The Melrose room shares its address with Awan, the plant-based ice cream flagship the same founder opened with chef Zen Ong, so this counter has to hold its own against a freezer.
