Curator’s note

Josh keeps three menus running at once, and the pour-over one is the one to read first: every cup arrives with a printed card naming its roaster, origin and process, brewed on an Orea. The seasonal list is where the fine-dining years show up — Puppy Love layers chamomile tea, fresh lime and cane syrup over Ethiopian cold brew, built more like a dessert course than a flavored drink.

  • The rotating Gesha on the Orea
  • Puppy Love off the summer card
  • A quiet counter in Jefferson Park
  • A patio table with the dog

The coffee

The shop does not roast, so the roster is the program — Cozy Monster (Wenbo Yang, 2026 US Roasting Champion) and Monolith Coffee in Alhambra as the house roasters, with guests rotating through the pour-over bar. The most recent card read Diwan Colombia Geisha, washed process, roasted by Moim, $9.50; cold brew runs as its own program on cold-brewed washed and natural Ethiopian rather than a hot-brew concentrate.

Pour-overs are brewed on an Orea and served with printed cards carrying roaster, origin and process, and the Summer 2026 card for Puppy Love lists its build plainly: Ethiopia natural and washed cold brew, chamomile tea, fresh lime slices, cane sugar syrup. The room is a dark wood-slat facade with a glass storefront, counter service, no indoor tables and two umbrella-shaded two-tops outside — modest and quiet by intent.
