Curator’s note

Amir is a certified Q Grader, and the top of KAFE's menu is priced by the cup at whatever the season costs — the one Curated Collection lot on the board so far is a washed Gesha from Planada, Tolima, grown at 1,850 meters and scored past 90. Broskin Studio built the room out of foam, silicone and steel, and the shop sells nothing to take home, so the cup and that room are the whole of it.

  • Saffron matcha with pistachio milk

The coffee

KAFE's co-founder Amir is a certified Q Grader, and the brand says it roasts at a facility of its own in the Arts District that it calls the KAFE Roastery. The Curated Collection's one lot so far is a washed Gesha from Planada, Tolima, Colombia, grown at 1,850 meters and scored 90-plus, though no beans are sold to take home.

Broskin Studio designed the room behind a plain concrete facade near the pink Paul Smith boutique on Melrose, with a material palette of foam, silicone, and steel anchored by a foam island the studio calls "sculptural and technologically engineered."
